Lovely day in Cork for our third Blueface Business Elevator competition on Saturday 9th June in Carphone Warehouse, Patrick Street. Store Manager Rebecca Carmen and all staff made us very welcome and we had planty of interest from customers and passers by as we set up instore.
Entrants on the day showed a strong social focus, winners RigBag have developed an innovative Action Sports online community which will aim to provide enthusiasts with a platform to buy, sell, or swap, new and secondhand equipment, get information, trade tips, keep in touch, find jobs and book events. The judges were impressed with RigBag’s original idea and clear business vision, but they also highly commended two Social Enterprise ventures who were among the entrants. First of these was Michael Newhan and his business Local Switch, an ambitious project which aims to assist communities making the switch to community owned infrastructure. Second was Csaba Bujna, a Hungarian man living in Cork who has set up International Club Cork, a social and professional networking organization for people living in Cork and the surrounding areas.
The judges of the Cork heat of Blueface Elevator were Mark Condon, MD of Electromaster, Frank Hannigan, Chairman at Razor Communications, Alan Foy, CEO, Blueface and Nigel Heneghan, Managing Director, Heneghan PR.
On the day, Blueface also gave away a number of Panasonic UT Handsets to customers in-store. This was done in participation with Cork’s RedFM and was a lot of fun for all involved. Blueface is delighted to be supplying the ultra-modern Panasonic UT 113 through Carphone Warehouse. This is a first in Ireland, currently retailing at a very special low price of €69 ex VAT.
RigBag will join Drogheda winners CleverMiles and Galway winners Ireland’s Raw Kitchen in the final on the 14th of July in Carphone Warehouse, Grafton Street. The competition continues next weekend on Saturday 16th of June in Carphone Warehouse, McDonagh Junction, Kilkenny.
