FutureScope is an event oragnised by Dublin BIC, which will be held in the Convention Centre Dublin on Tuesday, 31st May 2016. The event is set to attract 1,000 attendees and has been designed to foster collaboration between Ireland’s entrepreneurial community and the base of innovative multinationals here.
The event will see a mix of high calibre speakers from Google, Accenture, Facebook, Stripe, and IBM among many others. Outside of the speakers, there will also be an opportunity for structured networking between seed and growth stage start-ups, investors, large enterprise, multinationals, academia, media and key influences within the start-up ecosystem.
Feargal Brady, Blueface Founder, will be one of the key speakers during the event and will be discussing: “Will the Cloud and Big Data ever live up to its Hype?”
To find out what are the biggest opportunities Feargal sees for Irish tech in general and what was the best advice he has ever received, read an extract from an interview he gave to FutureScope already.
‘Only the paranoid survive’ – Feargal Brady, Blueface Founder
Feargal Brady has tirelessly worked to build Blueface into a company setting the pace globally from Ireland. They’ve now built a unique platform that’s taking their business to a whole new level.
Feargal took time out from his hectic schedule to look forward to FutureScope.
Why are you going to FutureScope?
Blueface have been part of the Irish Tech ecosystem since 2004, inspired by companies like Kindle, Iona, CR2 and others. Dublin BIC have been incredibly supportive, from day one. In fact the very first business development meeting for me personally as co-founder of Blueface was with DBIC. We are delighted to be able to support both DBIC and the Dublin Tech community in promoting Irish talent and innovation.
Who do you most want to meet there?
While we don’t have a single target in mind, we want to meet as many of our peers as possible, and discuss how we can all improve, grow and succeed.
Where are the biggest opportunities right now for your business?
The UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) market is exploding right now, with traditional telephony lines being phased out all over the world. We’ve got the best UC platform on the planet right now, and demand for wholesale managed services is huge and global.
What are the biggest opportunities you see for Irish Tech Co’s in general?
We’ve a wealth of talent here in Ireland with serious intellectual horsepower from all over the globe. There’s a superb support infrastructure for starting a business and funding is out there. So there’s never been a better time to start a business, nor a better place from where to start a global company.
What’s your conference strategy?
We always check the attendee list in advance and do the usual checks to make sure we meet our prime targets.
Best advice you’ve ever received?
Only the paranoid survive.
Ireland’s a great place for tech because ……….
We’re a can-do nation, or certainly we’ve become one. Try living in some other European countries and you soon realize what an amazing place Ireland is for starting and growing a business. Sure we have problems, but for a startup it’s unrivaled.
