Vennetics new service Moozler opens a new channel of internet revenues to mobile operators
DUBLIN–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Vennetics, an innovator of telecommunication and IT application solutions has provided their J-Box products to Blueface, Ireland’s leading IP telephony network, in order to launch Moozler, an entirely new category of managed service for mobile operators globally.
Moozler brings the full power of the GSM network to the PC screens of end users. The voice, messaging and media features of the Moozler service will be a revelation to a desktop application marketplace that has become familiar with the limited communications services offered within the Internet domain. At last, mobile operators can stride into the PC domain and demonstrate to users the kind of robust and coherent service features that come from decades of experience in building dedicated voice networks.
Vennetics has designed Moozler to add the best that Internet telephony has to offer, around the user’s most trusted communications device, their mobile phone. For example, if quality problems arise on an Internet call from their PC, users can seamlessly move the call to a better quality GSM connection at their mobile phone.
Similarly, if a user wants to add video to a call from any standard GSM handset, they can seamlessly swap the conversation across to a PC with a camera. Since the PC application shares the users existing mobile number, the full range of Moozler features is available immediately to any GSM user, without visiting web sites to buy new phone numbers or new bundles of voice minutes from Internet companies.
Moozler is provided as a hosted managed service. Mobile operators need only make a standard inter network connection with the regulated Blueface telephony network and enjoy new revenues streams according to existing wholesale settlement processes. No new equipment or tariff plans are required. Mobile operators can simply offer the power of their GSM networks to the large marketplace of PC based users and enjoy the incremental cash flow as those capabilities are consumed. This is possible because Moozler is not just another Internet application that puts a new brand on top of free talk-and-text between PCs. Rather, the Moozler service is delivered as a premium offering that paying users perceive as excellent value.
Graham Trickey, Senior Project Director at the GSM Association said,
We are delighted that Blueface and Vennetics have adopted the OneAPI specifications on which to build Moozler. This service is a good example of how OneAPI can allow innovative new application developers to build novel service logic against GSM networks. We look forward to other application developers building new services against the OneAPI Gateway in Ireland and additional GSM networks connecting to this OneAPI Gateway.
Alan Foy, CEO at Blueface said,
The development and rollout of the Moozler service is built on a strong strategic partnership between Blueface and Vennetics. We are confident that global operators and developers alike will be excited about the opportunities and benefits that the service represents. Blueface and Vennetics have brought their respective capabilities together in order to define a new solution category, which uniquely addresses a real need in the marketplace.Kieran Dalton, Chairman of Vennetics said,
The launch of the Moozler service is a milestone in the development of telecommunications web services. This is clearly an application that advances the service footprint of GSM operators into the Internet domain, in a manner that was not previously achievable. The GSM Association initiatives around the OneAPI specifications have in large part made this possible and we are convinced that the Blueface experience in supporting wholesale managed services for mobile operators leaves their infrastructure perfectly placed to host OneAPI Gateway technology.
