Blueface recently hosted the Cloud Communications Alliance European Conference in Dublin. Blueface Co-Founder & Director, Feargal Brady, gave a presentation to the CCA. The following words are his round-up of the Conference.
The giants of the global Cloud Communications industry were in Dublin this week. Blueface were hosting the Cloud Communications Alliance European conference in Ireland and a record turnout enjoyed everything Dublin has to offer.
It was a who’s who of the industry, made up of Presidents, CEOs, founders and senior executives all gathered in The Marker Hotel. We heard developing trends and perspectives from companies including Broadsoft and Vonage, from Edgewater Networks and from Audiocodes, along with some really great insights from Cooley Law and from the Dutch Digital Infrastructure Association. Masergy presented on WebRTC – always a hot topic – and it got the debate going immediately.
The office of the Irish Data Protection Commissioner got another mention (See my previous post about Futurscope) but the real message coming out of the meeting was that the hosted voice market in general, and Unified Communications as a Service, in particular, is red hot right now.
We’re looking at an industry which has already exceeded value forecasts made just 3 years ago and are set to do the same again. We learned that globally, only a tiny fraction of the market has moved but the pace is quickening. With the SME, Enterprise and Government all increasingly switching to on-demand communications, this trend is turning into a hockey-stick right now.
It’s clear that apart from the impending death of analog / ISDN voice, the move to ever more integrated services such as intelligent response systems is gathering pace. It’s a great time to be at the cutting edge of the industry and to see and help shape the biggest changes in communications technology for decades.
A big thank you to the CCA and to all the CCA members who came to Dublin, and to the weather gods for a glorious sunny Sunday for the opening BBQ!
