Welcome to the first instalment of our 5 Minutes with Blueface series, where we will introduce you to some of our Blueface Superstars and offer an insight into their career and team culture.
This week we meet the brains of the operation, Guillaume Bonnet. Working with Blueface for just short of 14 years, Guillaume leads a growing team of innovative developers and engineers across Blueface’s multiple locations.
Born in France, Guillaume spent many school summers in Ireland improving his English and engaging in a very Irish tradition. Proclaiming to be more Irish than some of his city living colleagues, Guillaume worked in a bog in Co. Kerry, cutting and delivering turf.
What’s your Professional Background?
I have an MSC in Telecommunications Engineering and have always had a passion for this industry. I’ve been lucky enough to see a lot of the world through my work with Blueface.
I am trilingual. I was born in France and studied in Paris. I have lived in Ireland, the UK, Australia, and after meeting a lovely Italian lady in Ireland, we have ended up living in Rome, Italy.
Why Work at Blueface?
I have the second-longest tenure in Blueface, and this is to do with how much I love my role and what we achieve here. We are currently growing, but in comparison to some larger companies, we are accomplishing outstanding things with much smaller teams.
As an organisation, we have a very entrepreneurial mindset, which is complemented with the market-leading technology we get to work with. I have an international team, and this provides a broader service range to enter new markets and continue to grow.
What Values Drive You and the Software Development team?
It’s simple, do the very best you can, always. We are hard-working, talented, friendly, and people who genuinely enjoy a challenge. The teamwork across the wider business is key to our success. We never stop collaborating and questioning the norm!
Advice for Anyone Considering Working at Blueface?
Be ready to take ownership of projects with a real opportunity to own your space. Blueface is growing from strength to strength, so our teams are continuing to grow as a result of this. We value self-starters at Blueface!
When it comes to our software life cycle and deliveries, I believed in promoting industry best standards and continuing to upskill my team.
What is your Proudest Moment Working at Blueface?
For me, our most significant milestone to date is the Comcast acquisition. We have shown the real value of our all-in-one unified communications platform through this remarkable merger.
We have worked through some challenging times, some technical difficulties, and we overcame all obstacles as a team. We never lost track of our strategy and long term goals, and that is why we’re in this position today. I am immensely proud of this, but something tells me there are even more high points to come for Blueface!
