Welcome to the next instalment of our 5 Minutes with Blueface series, where we introduce you to some of our Blueface Superstars and offer an insight into their career and team culture.
This week we met one of our many leading ladies of Blueface, Karla Aguilera. Karla has worked as the Wholesale Account Manager for the Spanish market, since 2019.
Karla comes from Santa Cruz, Bolivia located in South America and is now based in Ireland after studying in Trinity College and joining Blueface.
What’s your Professional Background?
I studied Business Administration in Florida and then went on to complete my masters in Human Resources at Trinity College. I am a native Spanish speaker as well as English, which comes in handy!
I have lived across the globe from South America to the United States and now Dublin, Ireland.
Why Work at Blueface?
Blueface has a culture that I have never experienced before, the office and now the virtual culture we have is unbeatable! As a business, we have such a passion for the industry, and we collaborate right across the board.
Within my own team, we are both colleagues and friends, and we support each other in many ways, whether it’s work-related or just picking up the phone for a chat on a hard day!
What Values Drive You?
For me, honesty is key, followed by loyalty and commitment. I feel my values really align with Blueface as it is a company who can truly commit to your growth if you are passionate and work hard.
Something We Didn’t Know About Karla Aguilera?
My nickname among my family and friends is ‘hard-head’. I feel like this definitely needs an explanation!
Back in 2012 while visiting a spa, on what was meant to be a relaxing day out, a hammer fell on my head. Thankfully, all that was needed was a few stitches, so since then my family and friends like to joke about how hard-headed I am!
Advice for Anyone Considering Working at Blueface?
Blueface is a very welcoming environment where you are encouraged to think outside the box and voice your ideas. It is a high achieving environment with a great support system. As we create such a revolutionary product, an entrepreneurial spirit is really valued at Blueface.
What is your Proudest Moment Working at Blueface?
For me, my proudest moment was my promotion from the Support team to the Wholesale team. I was allowed to gain new experiences and move into a different department. It has been an exciting transition for me.
