Welcome to the next instalment of our 5 Minutes with Blueface series, where we introduce you to some of our Blueface Superstars and offer an insight into their career and team culture.
This week we met Victoria McAuley, Blueface’s very own Italian-Irish wonder women. Working in Blueface for an impressive eight years, Victoria is well and truly part of the Blueface DNA.
Currently living in Rome, Victoria is responsible for the growth of Blueface’s most successful Whitelabels with a charter to scale sales, empowering her clients and teams.
What’s your Background?
Well, I do think I have the best of both worlds. I was born in Rome and grew up in Ireland. Which means, I gesticulate like a mafioso and drink Guinness like an Irish man.
I studied Languages and Information Studies in UCD and went on to study a Master’s in PR and Marketing in Dublin. Following on from my studies, I worked in sales and marketing roles, focusing on customer success and business development.
I speak a few languages, including Italian, English, Spanish and some French.
Why Work at Blueface?
What started as a job has ended up as my second family. You spend so much time at work; it is so important to have a relationship with the people you work with.
After spending eight years working in Blueface, I have well and truly grew up with my colleagues. There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t laugh, create, inspire and drive one another to be the very best we can be. The good and the bad times are shared and celebrated.
What Values Drive You?
I believe that everybody you meet is fighting their own battles, so it is important to remember this.
As an Irish and Italian woman, family is a real value of mine, followed by hard work, loyalty and being passionate about everything I do.
Something We Didn’t Know About Victoria?
I have a few hobbies, including piano and horse riding, but more interestingly I am a qualified tattoo artist, specialised in permanent makeup.
Something else people wouldn’t know about me and one that my family and friends still get a good laugh out of happened at the birth of my child. I managed to kick my midwife in the face, which thankfully she could laugh off too.
Advice for Anyone Considering Working at Blueface?
If you are considering it, do it. I have never looked back and no longer understand what the word boring means. Each day brings new learnings, and my professional growth has skyrocketed over the last few years.
Blueface is a fast-growing company with endless opportunities if you are a motivated, self-starter. Play hard but work harder.
If you Could have Anyone Else’s Job in Blueface, Who Would it be?
It always starts with, “now let me tell you a story”…
It has to be the great Mano Ryan. He is one of the best public speakers I know and always gives great advice. If I could inherit his capabilities for a day, I would be delighted. He is very supportive and keeps the cogs moving across the whole business. Like Micheal Clarke, Mano Ryan is a social butterfly with lots of connections across the industry.
What is your Proudest Moment Working at Blueface?
There have been so many high moments in Blueface, and we have had some big wins as an organisation. Looking back over the last 8-years it’s really remarkable how far we have come.
On a personal level, I recently launched one of Blueface’s most significant Whitelabel partnerships. This has been one of my proudest moments. The successful launch is a testament to our technology, teamwork, and willingness to go that extra mile for our clients.
