Many customers call Blueface asking about a fully wireless, or cordless, business phone system solution. Some call because they want a more free-flowing office, others because they have insufficient LAN ports for their VoIP hardware.
Unfortunately, no lines or line rental doesn’t necessarily mean cable-free. Want to cut all of the cords? Keep reading this post and your office will be line free and unrestricted with digitally enhanced cordless telephones (DECT) from Blueface.
Step 1: Assessing Your Office Situation for DECT
Not every office necessarily needs a cordless telephone and, depending on your layout and not every office is ideal for a wireless environment. To begin, survey your office and network capabilities.
Check the number of available LAN ports.
Identify WiFi obstacles such as concrete walls or storage units.
Take a note of your router’s distance to your phones.
Ensure your internet speed is fast enough for comparatively lower WiFi speeds.
Therefore, if everything checks out and you have a service provider, you’re ready to get a new cordless phone.
Step 2: Choosing Wireless / DECT Phones
Not all wireless hardware works with every provider, get started with this list.
What handsets are compatible? Panasonic TPA60 and TPA65.
DECT requires a TGP600 bay station that supports up-to-eight handsets.
New customers should ask Blueface about ideal wireless environments.
Existing Blueface UC customers can order directly from the Blueface UC Store.

Step 3: Setting Up DECT / Cordless Telephones
Connect your TGP600 Base Station to your network via a LAN cable.
Connect up to eight TPA60/65 handsets with one base station and one LAN cable.
To add a new handset, hold [OK] until the screen displays Please Wait. On the Panasonic Base, hold the small button on right-hand side until it flashes red. Wait for the handset to say Registered.
Allow the software to download before using or registering another handset.

La TGP600 base is connected to your network via the LAN cable. As a result, up to eight handsets, within a 50-meter radius can be paired. So there is no need for additional LAN cables to each device (see diagram below).

Like all good projects big and small, reviewing the key final stage. Follow the steps below to make sure you have the best set up for your office.
Note that each of the four connected DECT devices requires a Hosted Seat.
Quality issues? Make sure your router is optimally positioned and unobstructed.
